Fees and Schedules

Thinking of learning how to play music?  At Studio Nine School of Music, we do our best to try and make the registration process as easy as possible. The first step is to decide which instrument you wish to learn, and if you are not sure, please see our frequently asked questions page to help you decide. After that, take a look at your schedule to find the day that might be perfect for your regular weekly music lessons, you can then take a look at our schedule to seek if we have the instrument offered on the day and in the location that works best for you. You can also just give us a call or send us an email and we can let you know who we have available at the location or on the day(s) that work best for you.

Once we have found the perfect time to fit in your schedule, all we need to do is fill out a registration form and place a form of payment on file. You can then download our registration form and fill it out at home and bring it back to us or email it back to us, or you can just pop into one of our offices and we can help you fill out the registration form at that time.  After that you just attend your weekly lessons at the scheduled time and we will guide you through your musical journey!

Lesson Fees

  • Private lessons $31.00-$35.00 per class.  We are fortunate to have a range of teachers with different skills, abilities, and career accomplishments as well as teachers who have substantial tenure at Studio Nine and we reflect these achievements with a small variance in price.
  • The lessons are based on a half hour class once a week and the billing and payments are processed monthly.  This means in the average month with four weeks (thus 4 lessons in the month), the monthly fee would range between $124.00 – $140.00 and of course if the month is short or if there is a lesson due to a statutory holiday, or if you are lucky enough to get an extra lesson in the month we adjust our fees to reflect the appropriate number of lessons in the month.
  • Students taking private lessons typically have a book or a series of books that they will work from.  The cost of any books or materials that a student will require for their classes is a separate fee from the lesson and registration fee but typically a new student can expect to spend around $20 for their books.
  • Students pay a yearly family registration fee of $25.  This is a family fee and a yearly fee so familys who register multiple children/students or students who register in multiple programs only pay $25 per family per year.
  • We accept post-dated cheques, Visa or MasterCard for lesson payment.

Group Classes:

Keyboard Adventures – The Safari

  • Group lesson fees for Keyboard Adventures – The Safari are $25 per class.  The lessons are based on a one hour class once a week and the billing and payments are processed monthly.  This means in the average month with four weeks (thus 4 lessons in the month), the monthly fee would range between $100.00 per month.  If the month is short a class because of a statutory holiday, or if you are lucky enough to get an extra lesson in the month we adjust our fees to reflect the appropriate number of lessons in the month.
  • Students registered in Keyboard Adventures – The Safari have a $100 materials fee to cover the cost of supplies needed for the program.
  • The books and music will be delivered to the student ‘digitally’ so students will require a tablet device of some kind.  The cost of the tablet is not included in the materials fee, it is our expectation that the families will have access to a tablet already, however, if a family does not currently own a tablet we can recommend devices that are very reasonable to purchase.

Group Class Fees:

Toddler tunes

Music Mania

Rock Band

  • Group lesson fees for our Toddler Tunes, Music Mania, and our Rock Band programs are $25 per class.  The lessons are based on a 45 minute to one hour class once a week and the billing and payments are processed monthly.
  • Students pay a yearly family registration fee of $25.  This is a family fee and a yearly fee so families who register multiple children/students or students who register in multiple programs only pay $25 per family per year.
