Fees and Schedules
Thinking of learning how to play music? At Studio Nine School of Music, we do our best to try and make the registration process as easy as possible. The first step is to decide which instrument you wish to learn, and if you are not sure, please see our frequently asked questions page to help you decide. After that, take a look at your schedule to find the day that might be perfect for your regular weekly music lessons, you can then take a look at our schedule to seek if we have the instrument offered on the day and in the location that works best for you. You can also just give us a call or send us an email and we can let you know who we have available at the location or on the day(s) that work best for you.
Once we have found the perfect time to fit in your schedule, all we need to do is fill out a registration form and place a form of payment on file. You can then download our registration form and fill it out at home and bring it back to us or email it back to us, or you can just pop into one of our offices and we can help you fill out the registration form at that time. After that you just attend your weekly lessons at the scheduled time and we will guide you through your musical journey!
Private lessons $29.50-$33.50 per class. We are fortunate to have a range of teachers with different skills, abilities, and career accomplishments as well as teachers who have substantial tenure at Studio Nine, and we reflect these achievements with a small variance in price. The lessons are based on a half hour class once a week and the billing and payments are processed monthly. This means in the average month with four weeks (thus 4 lessons in the month), the monthly fee would range between $118-$134; and of course if the month is short, or if there is a lesson due to a statutory holiday, or you are lucky enough to get an extra lesson in the month, we adjust our fees to reflect the appropriate number of lessons in the month. We accept post-dated cheques, Visa or MasterCard for lesson payment.
Students pay a yearly family registration fee of $25.
Group Classes $20 per class.
We offer private music lessons for students of all ages Monday-Saturday during the school year (September through June). Weekdays we schedule the classes from 3 pm to 9 pm, and on Saturday’s we offer the classes from 9 am to 5 pm. We are closed for all statutory holidays.

The availability of each teacher changes regularly as new students are added into the schedule. If you would like to know our current availability please just give us a call or send us a quick email and we would be happy to get back to you with a list of our current availability for any teacher, instrument, day or even location.
As is the policy with other Educational Institutes, all lessons are charged for. No credit is allowed for student absences from lessons including vacations and illness. All lessons are to be paid for in advance by Post-Dated Cheques or Credit Card Authorization. It is the student’s or parent’s responsibility to attend classes regularly and be on time. Although we appreciate being notified of student absences, we do not provide refunds or make-up lessons for student absences. Teacher absences sometimes can not be avoided, and in these cases, a suitably qualified teacher may substitute the lessons OR a make-up lesson will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.
Lessons are scheduled to conclude June 29, 2017. To discontinue lessons prior to June 29, 2017, 30 days written notice is required and lessons must be paid for up to and including the end of that period.
We allow teaching supplies to be charged to your account. Statements will not be issued unless a balance is owing for two months. After 30 days, interest will be charged on the full balance owed, at the rate of 2% per month with a minimum charge of $1.50 per month.
