Daniel Amezcua

A music graduate of the University of British Columbia, Daniel has studied voice and piano with celebrated teachers including: Donald Bell, Bruce Pullan, Edward Parker, and Daniel Taylor.

Daniel is a dedicated teacher, musical director, and choreographer. He’s a frequent guest soloist in and around Calgary.  As a regular accompanist, he plays for events including Calgary’s Performing Arts Festival, Spruce Meadow’s Christmas Market, and Studio Nine’s Summer Musical. Daniel is also the Musical Director for the annual Eau Claire Christmas Light Up.

Daniel’s students regularly succeed in festivals and performances, and many place highly at the Calgary Performing Arts Festival. His students have already seen success in the 2019 season. Two of his students are also current members of the Young Canadians. 

Among his other talents and achievements, Daniel is also an accomplished studio musician. As well as studio accompaniment, he does arrangement and scoring. Many of his projects are for his student’s performances.

Daniel credits teaching philosophy to his longtime teacher, mentor, and friend Valerie Witham. His philosophy is centered on releasing the instrument and understanding the ‘art of singing’.

Accompaniment is provided with all lessons.
