A study in 2016 by the University of Southern California's Brain and Creativity Institute found that playing or listening to music early in childhood can increase language development and reading skills. Learning music has also been shown to improve mathematical learning, and problem solving.
Exposing children to music early in life helps them develop motor skills, and strengthen memory skills.
This special group program for 4 and 5-year-old students was written to introduce young students to the love of music. Group lessons are a great way to spark joy for younger students. Instead of jumping straight into private lessons, we introduce students to music and basic musical concepts through fun interactive methods. More intense technical aspects will come with individual lessons, a little bit later. Our goal is to build a foundation that they can take with them to their future private lessons.
We are about to embark on a musical adventure like no other! Take part in our specialized group program for students age 5 and 6. Students will learn to play piano, as well as essential musical concepts through movement, rhythm, songs, stories, and note reading. Small class sizes maximize the time every student has with their teacher, while maintaining the fun and interactive environment that goes along with the group classes.
